QUEZON CITY, 26 August (PIA) – The Philippine National Police (PNP) through its Firearms and Explosives Office (FEO)and Land Bank of the Philippines (LANDBANK) recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to make collecting fees easier for all gun licenses and permits nationwide through the online and electronic payment system.
PNP Deputy Chief for Administration PDDG Marcelo P. Garbo Jr. and Senior Vice President Jennifer A. Tantan, Head of LANDBANK North NCR Branches Group led the MOA signing, together with PCSUPT Elmer R Soria, Acting Director of Civil Security Group and Atty. Rosemarie DJ Romillo, DM/Head, Camp Crame Branch.
Under the agreement, applicants for License to Own and Possess Firearm (LTOPF) and Firearms Registration can now course their payments over the counter at all LANDBANK branches nationwide.
In addition, the agreement states that the PNP does not need to manually issue an Order of Payment (OP) printed on a piece of paper, instead, the OP will be electronically sent by FEO’s new information system to the applicant’s cellphone numbers. With the new system, LandBank also need not to issue a Special Bank Receipt (SBR) to the applicants, reducing the cost for printing of forms.
Applicants can also use the LANDBANK’s Electronic Payment Portal or ePP to avoid the hassle of lining-up and waiting for hours to pay for their transactions. The ePP may be accessed anywhere in the world when performing online payment transactions.
The ePP is an alternative payment channel that allows clients to pay for products and services offered by government and private institutions via internet. Any computer or mobile device with an internet connection can be used to utilize this service.
According to PNP, the ePP will be available for use in September this year. (PNP/JEG/PIA-NCR)
