QUEZON CITY, 10 December (PIA) – With the Holiday rush in the air, National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Joel D. Pagdilao reminded the public to be extra vigilant this Christmas season.
“Bring just enough money to spend, plan your shopping time to avoid Christmas rush, be aware of transactions done online and offline,” Pagdilao said.
He advised the public to be mindful of what they purchase especially when items are sold to them personally or online at low price.
Likewise, Pagdilao warned consumers to be wary of stolen items being sold.
“Please be reminded that purchase of stolen items may lead buyers to face charges in violation of PD 1612 (Anti-Fencing Law) referring to a crime that in many ways accompanies crime against property. It happens when a person buys, sells, accepts, keeps, conceals, acquires or in any manner disposes of something that he knows or should know is stolen,” he explained.
Pagdilao directed his men to coordinate with concerned government agencies and the local government units to strictly implement the laws and regulation related to firecrackers and other pyrotechnic devices.
The NCRPO chief also appealed to the public for their continuous support and cooperation with all NCRPO’s anti-criminality campaign, as he assured the public’s safety and security in the metro this holiday season. (PNP/RJB/JEG/PIA-NCR)
