
The survey had 570 respondents composed of students, professionals, religious leaders, barangay officials and employees, business sector representatives, force multipliers, street workers and household members randomly selected in different barangays of Metro Manila. A survey was also conducted regarding the trust and performance of five police districts in the NCR.
The Southern Police District was named as the most trusted police district in Metro Manila in terms of police response and accessibility, followed by Manila Police District (MPD), Eastern Police District (EPD), Northern Police District (NPD), and Quezon City Police District (QCPD).
The Pasay City Police (83.3%) ranked first as the most trusted and respected station. It is followed by Muntinlupa City Police (66.7%), Mandaluyong City Police (65%), Navotas City Police (60%), Malabon and Pateros (58.3%), Caloocan City Police (58%), Pasig City Police (56.7%), Taguig and Makati City Police (55%), Manila City Police (52%), Valenzuela City Police (50%), Parañaque City Police (45%), and Quezon City Police (30%). Aside from public trust and respect, the survey also showed that the level of public safety has increased to 42.7% (2016) from 29.3% (2014). Furthermore, the crime reporting by the public reached 43.9% (2016) from 24.1% (2014).
Meanwhile, the Las Piñas City police station ranks first on response and accessibility, followed by the police stations in Mandaluyong, Muntinlupa, Makati, Manila, Marikina, Pateros, San Juan City, Caloocan, Valenzuela, Navotas, Parañaque, Taguig, Pasig, Malabon and Quezon City. (RJB/MAPA/PIA-NCR)
