CALOOCAN CITY, June 22 (PIA) -- The Department of Health (DOH) on Monday urged local government units (LGUs) to have an organized way of implementing their COVID-19 vaccine rollout in order to maintain public health standards.

Following the reports which allowed walk-ins to vaccination sites, the DOH official said this might cause "crowding of people" in some areas.

“Ang sabi nga natin huwag na tumanggap ng walk-in kasi dito nagkacrowd ang mga tao. Ang ating gawin ngayon ay magkaroon ng organized way of scheduling for vaccination,” DOH USec. Rosario Vergeire said in DOH Media Forum on June 21.

The DOH reiterated the importance of masterlisting to those eligible for vaccination and notifying them for their respective schedule.

“Ang ating kababayan will be assured kapag nakakuha sila ng schedule. They have the confidence that they will receive the vaccines eventually,” Vergeire said.

Aside from vaccination, the health department emphasized the need to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in vaccination sites.

“Kaya todo iwas tayo sa crowding at ganitong circumstances ay para magkaroon ng safe vaccination for everybody,” Vergeire said. (PIA-NCR)
