QUEZON CITY, (PIA) -- Makati City Mayor Abby Binay on Monday confirmed that the viral video of a health worker clumsily conducting a COVID-19 vaccine injection process took place in the city's vaccination hub.
Mayor Binay called it a human error, which she also guaranteed will not happen again.
“It was a human error on the part of the volunteer nurse,” she said.
“We simply ask for understanding from the public. Mahigit isang taon na pong naghihirap at nagtratrabaho ang ating mga frontliners…Tao lang po ang ating mga frontliners—napapagod, nagkakamali.”
A video showing a Makati health care worker failing to press the plunger on a vaccine procedure has gone viral over the weekend.
The recipient of the vaccine did not notice that the health care worker had not administered the jab, and left unvaccinated.
The video, which circulated widely on social media on Monday was apparently shot on June 25 and brought to the attention of the authorities on June 26, Mayor Abby said.
Binay said in her statement that the vaccine recipient was given the vaccine after the complaint was raised. (MyMakati/PIA NCR)
