PASIG CITY, June 15 (PIA) -- Starting today, curfew hours in Metro Manila will be shortened.
Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) chairperson Benhur Abalos shared during the Laging Handa public briefing on Monday that Metro Manila mayors have agreed to shorten the curfew hours from 12:00 midnight up to 4:00 in the morning.
“Nag meeting po ang lahat ng alkalde ng Kalakhang Maynila, nagkaroon kami ng votation... Ito’y base sa daily attack rate na 6.76 percent at ang two-week growth rate na -16.5 percent, at dahil sa bed occupancy sa Metro Manila na 36.3 percent,” explained Abalos.
The MMDA said that the shortened curfew period will help boost our economy.
Meanwhile, Abalos shared that inoculation of members from the entertainment industry has also begun. He added that 60 percent of MMDA personnel on the ground were also inoculated.
Abalos also said that Metro Manila mayors are prepared for the arrival of more vaccines and its roll out.
Meanwhile, the MMDA chief called for the continued cooperation of the public to follow the minimum health protocols to curb the spread of COVID-19. (PIA NCR)
