Parks chief recognizes Manila’s COVID-19 field hospital as proof of Filipino’s resilience

PASIG CITY (PIA) -- National Parks Development Committee (NPDC) Executive Director Cecille Lorenzana Romero cited the completion of the Manila COVID-19 Field Hospital as a proof of Filipino’s resilience.

“The Manila COVID-19 Field Hospital is tangible proof of the strength and resilience of the Filipino people, and our capability to recover from any hardship when we come together and stand in solidarity,” said Executive Director Romero during the recent opening of the field hospital.

The NDPC chief was joined by Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso, Health Secretary Francisco Duque III, Senator Christopher Lawrence "Bong" Go, Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea, Secretary Carlito Galvez, Secretary Vince Dizon, Undersecretary Leopoldo Vega, MMDA Chairperson Benhur Abalos, MMDA Undersecretary Jojo Garcia.

The newly-opened 336-bed hospital coincided with the 450th Founding Anniversary of Manila.

The facility located at the Burnham Green of the Rizal Park was built in 52 days and will house mild and moderate cases of COVID-19. (NPDC/PIA-NCR)
