QUEZON CITY, June 23 (PIA) -- The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and the Muntinlupa City Government are in talks to beef up security along the Laguna Lake area, the Public Information Office said.
This, after officials from the PCG paid a courtesy visit to Mayor Jaime Fresnedi on Monday, June 21 to discuss security management and patrolling along the major body of water.
Fresnedi said the local government will coordinate with the Coast Guard through the city’s Lake Management Office to strengthen lake patrolling and coordination for disaster risk management.
Attending the meeting were Lt. Michael John P Encina, LT. Ryan C. Austria, PO1 Peter Pallada, and LMO chief Hermie dela Cruz.
Laguna Lake, also known as Laguna de Bay, is the largest lake in the Philippines. It is located southeast of Metro Manila.
Aside from Muntinlupa City, some areas of the lake is located along Taguig City.
Some of the fish found in the lake include milkfish, European perch, Nile tilapia, and Bighead carp. (PIA NCR)
