by: LUCIA F. BROÑIO

CALOOCAN CITY, June 15 (PIA) -- San Juan City today will start the vaccination of its indigent residents against COVID-19.

Mayor Francis Zamora is scheduled to visit the jab site at the FilOil Flying V Centre to personally inspect the launch and check the vaccination program of the city since A1, A2, A3, A4, and now, A5 individuals are simultaneously getting their COVID-19 vaccines.

Indigent residents who wish to get inoculated only need to provide their certificate of indigency from their respective barangays, a valid ID and the confirmatory text message stating their vaccination schedule that they received from "SanJuanCity," the city’s official contact number.

Aside from the main vaccination center, Theatre Mall’s Cinema 1 and 2 in Greenhills Mall are also being used as the city’s second vaccination center dedicated solely for A4 non-residents of San Juan.

As of June 12, 2021, the city has inoculated 38,192 individuals on their first dose or 44.72 percent of its target population to achieve herd immunity.

Meanwhile, the number of active cases in San Juan has been on a steady decline. As of June 13, 2021, the city has recorded 82 active cases.

This shows that as the number of vaccinated San Juaneños increases, the number of active cases continue to decrease despite the city’s efforts in opening up the economy. (PIA NCR)
