QUEZON CITY (PIA) – Museum-goers have responded positively to the National Museum of the Philippines’ newly installed donation boxes, demonstrating their appreciation for arts and culture.
Students from the University of Santo Tomas said donations are vital for the museum to further improve the preservation of Philippine history and heritage.
“I think it’s justifiable that we have charity boxes inside the national museum because this museum represents the history of the Philippines,” said student number 1.
“I think it’s important what donations also do. The donations would be part of our improvement,” said student number 2.
According to the National Museum, these donation boxes are a way to enhance their public service.
Through community support, they aim to make the museum experience more inclusive for all visitors, regardless of their background.
These donations will also help promote the arts through public programs and educational activities that will remain free for everyone.
The donation boxes can be found at the National Museum of Fine Arts, Anthropology, and Natural History in Manila.
However, the boxes only accept monetary donations. For those interested in donating items, you may coordinate with the National Museum of the Philippines. (JVD/PIA-NCR)
