QUEZON CITY (PIA) — As part of preparations for School Year 2026–2027, the Department of Education (DepEd) has begun nationwide early registration in public schools starting Saturday, January 31.
Parents and guardians of learners entering Kindergarten, Grade 1, Grade 7, and Grade 11 are encouraged to visit their chosen public schools to have their children listed for the upcoming school year.
DepEd said the early registration aims to help schools plan ahead by determining the expected number of enrollees, which will guide the allocation of teachers, classrooms, learning materials, and other essential resources.
Parents are advised to coordinate directly with their respective schools for the schedule and specific requirements for early registration. The activity is being implemented in accordance with DepEd Order No. 17, s. 2025, which provides the official guidelines for the process.
In the National Capital Region (NCR), education officials emphasized the importance of early registration, particularly in highly urbanized and densely populated communities where public schools regularly experience high enrollment volumes. Early listing of learners allows schools in the region to prepare more efficiently and ensure smoother enrollment when the next school year begins.
For more information and frequently asked questions (FAQ), parents and guardians may refer to DepEd Order No. 17, s. 2025, available on the official DepEd website or on DepEd Official Facebook page. (AVS/PIA-NCR)
