PHLPost to launch German-Philippine diplomatic relations commemorative stamps

MANILA, 2 July (PIA) - The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) will launch the commemorative stamps to mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Germany and the Philippines.
Postmaster General Ma. Josefina M. Dela Cruz will present the commemorative stamps to German Ambassador Thomas Ossowski on Wednesday, July 3 at the German Club in Makati City.

Officials and representatives from the Department of Foreign Affairs, German companies and institutions operating in the Philippines, as well as personalities promoting German-Philippine relations in the political, economic and cultural fields will grace the event.

According to PHLPost, the stamps feature the deep and longstanding partnership established between the two countries over the past decades, highlighted by the national symbols of peaceful revolution in Germany and the Philippines – the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, and the EDSA People Power Monument in Manila.
 
Some 80,000 commemorative stamps printed will be sold at P20 and P40 each.  It measures 40mm x 30mm se-tenant pair designed by in-house artist Victorino Serevo. 

The Stamp and Official First Day Covers are now available at the PHLPost Post Shop, Philately and Museum Division, Manila Central Post Office and all regional offices of PHLPost. (PHLPOST/RJB/JEG/PIA-NCR)
