Five QC health centers to provide affordable dialysis

QUEZON CITY, 31 March (PIA)--Mayor Herbert M. Bautista and other city officials are fine tuning some provisions in the implementation of dialysis service in five City health centers.

Bautista said patients can avail of dialysis service at a discounted price at the health centers in Toro Hills in District 1, Donya Nicasia in District 2, Escopa in District 3, Kamuning in District 4 and Novaliches in District 5.

Once all-set, city residents who are suffering from cancer and have to undergo dialysis will only shell out PhP 1,000, compared to PhP 5,000 or more that are normally charged by private hospitals or dialysis centers.

Bautista said that charging PhP 1,000 per session to dialysis patients is reasonable enough to defray the cost of the dialysis operation and utilities. The city government will subsidize the remaining expenses for the said procedure as health assistance to the city’s cancer patients.

Senior citizens who will avail themselves of the service will still enjoy the 20 percent discount apart from the PhP 1,000 standard charge.

The Mayor had already instructed that Quezon City official website post the price of dialysis service to properly inform the public who may be in need.

Bautista also ordered the web posting of various health services or procedure in the city-owned and operated Quezon City General Hospital (QCGH) and Novaliches District Hospital and health centers. (QC PAISO/RJB/SDL/PIA-NCR)
