MANILA, 13 April (PIA) – In celebration of this year’s Earth Day, the United States Embassy Manila will join forces with ABS-CBN Foundation, Inc. to hold Earth Jam.
Earth Jam is a clean-up event on April 14 at Barangay 841, Estero de Pandacan in Manila. The event will be led by US Ambassador Philip S. Goldberg, ABS CBN Foundation, Inc. chairman Gina Lopez, and Manila Vice Mayor Isko Moreno.
Volunteers who will also participate in this clean-up drive include members of the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI), local high school students and “River Warriors” from Kapit Bisig para sa Ilog Pasig.
Earth Jam is the contribution of the US Embassy to www.earthday.org’s “billion acts of green” and the embassy’s first project in partnership with ABS CBN Foundation, Inc. to mobilize local communities to mitigate the impact of natural disasters and increase resilience to global climate change.
After the clean-up event, a concert will be held featuring former Guns ‘N Roses guitarist Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal, joined by The Voice Philippines 2015 champion Mitoy, Pilipinas Got Talent winner Jovit Baldivino, and Pinoy rock legend Razorback. (US Embassy Manila/RJB/JEG/PIA-NCR)
