MAKATI CITY, 6 May (PIA)--The Department of Trade & Industry (DTI) is set to establish 302 Negosyo Centers in every city, province, and municipality nationwide by 2016.
In a news release, the DTI said this is in line with their commitment to further the delivery of quality government services to the country’s Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME).
Negosyo Centers will become the core of DTI’s thrust towards promoting MSMEs’ growth and development. The Center's services will include business registration, business advisory services and business information and advocacy.
Two pilot centers were launched in 2014, one in Region 10, Cagayan de Oro City; and another in Region 6, Iloilo City. Two other pilot centers, one in Region 4-A, Batangas City and another in the National Capital Region (NCR), Quezon City, will be launched early this year.
A target of 100 Negosyo Centers will be opened in the cities and capital towns in the latter part of 2015. In 2016, 200 additional Negosyo Centers will be opened in other areas including cities and municipalities up to the 6th Class depending on the LGU’s interest.
It is expected that at least 302 Negosyo Centers will have already been opened to assist local MSMEs nationwide by the end of 2016. (DTI/RJB/SDL/PIA-NCR)
