QUEZON CITY, Sept. 24 (PIA) --- In celebration of the International Coastal Clean-up Day,the Pasig River Rehabilitation Commission (PRRC) personnel, River Patrols and River Warriors conducted a clean-up drive along the shore of BASECO last 19 September 2015.c
Mounds of waste and all forms of garbage were accumulated along the shore as the PRRC continues to strengthen its developmental projects in BASECO, Manila.
PRRC Information Officer Iracel Gayatin and project leader of the BASECO clean-up said the sordid condition of the shores in BASECO is a manifestation of human neglect.
Over 600 sacks of trash gathered during the clean-up were hauled by Manila's Public Services (DPS), according to Gayatin.
"The clean-up drive is also a part of PRRC's developmental efforts for the BASECO Access-Road Development Project in the BASECO Community," Gayatin added.
PRRC has established a mangrove farm in the BASECO Community and has done greening initiative such as planting of bamboos and variety of other plant species along the developed area. (PRRC/RJB/MAPA/PIA-NCR)
