Taguig celebrates foundation day; special non-working day on December 8

TAGUIG CITY, Dec. 7 (PIA) – The city of Taguig will celebrate its Foundation Day on Tuesday, December 8, 2015.

In line with this, Malacañang has issued Proclamation Number 1175, declaring December 8, 2015 as a special non-working day in the city of Taguig.

“It is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of Taguig be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies,” stated in the Proclamation signed by the Executive Secretary Paquito N. Ochoa, Jr., by the authority of President Benigno S. Aquino III.

Before it became a highly-urbanized city, Taguig was a thriving fishing community along the shores of Laguna de Bay. (TAGUIG/RJB/JEG/PIA-NCR)
