Comelec’s BOC proclaims QC local officials

QUEZON CITY, May 11 (PIA)--The board of city canvassers of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) proclaimed on Tuesday the duly elected winners for Quezon City’s local posts.

Incumbent Mayor Herbert “Bistek” Bautista who was challenged by three other candidates, garnered a total of 729, 917 easily won the race. He was reelected for his third and final term as chief city executive.

Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte who garnered 736,274 votes has also been proclaimed as the duly elected winner for QC’s vice mayoral post. 

Aside from the Mayor and the Vice Mayor, also proclaimed were the winners for the race for QC’s congressional and council seats.

For the congressional seats, proclaimed were Vincent “Bingbong” Crisologo, for District I; Winston Castelo, for District II; Jorge “Bolet” Banal, for District III; Feliciano Belmonte Jr., for District IV; Alfred Vargas, for District V and Christopher ‘Kit” Belmonte, for District VI.

Crisologo, a former city councilor, bested reelectionist Francisco “Boy” Calalay.

For council seats, proclaimed as winners were Anthony Peter Crisologo, Lena Marie Juico, Elizabeth Delarmente, Victor Ferrer, Jr., Oliver Belmonte and Alex Herrera, for District I; Precious Hipolito, Bong Liban, Ramon “Toto” Medalla, Ranulfo Ludovica,  Star Valmocina and Roderick Paulate, for District II; Allan Benedict Reyes, Gian Carlo Sotto, Kate Coseteng, Don de Leon, Franz Pumaren and Eufemio Lagumbay, for District III; Marvin Rillo, Raquel Malangen, Irene Belmonte, Ivy Lagman, Mara Suntay and Hero Bautista, for District IV; Joe Visaya, Karl Castelo, Alyson Rae Medalla, Godofredo Liban, Anjo Yllana and Allan Francisco, for District V; and Marivic Co-Pilar, Bobby Castelo, Roger Juan, Lala Sotto, Donato Matias and Eric Medina,  for District VI.

Atty. Jonalyn Sabellano, Election Officer IV and Chairman of the City Board of Canvassers, presided over the proclamation of the winning local candidates. All election results have been duly canvassed and counted before Comelec made the proclamation, Sabellano said.  (QC PAISO/RJB/SDL/PIA-NCR)
