QUEZON CITY, Jan. 31 (PIA) -- “The arrangement is for our mutual advantage.”
This is the statement made by Social Security System (SSS) President and CEO Emmanuel Dooc in describing an initiative made by mall-based firm Robinsons Land Corporation in giving rent-free spaces for the state-run pension fund.
Speaking on the sidelines of the SSS Sulit Conference 2018, “Kontribusyon Mo Sulit na Sulit!” launch, a nationwide campaign to bring in new memberships, Mr. Dooc said SSS members benefit with the arrangement, as they would have better, more convenient access to the pension fund’s services. For their part, however, he said the SSS brings in human traffic to them.
“We currently have 31 SSS Satellite Offices in various Robinsons Malls nationwide where members could conveniently transact,” he said.
“Iyong mga opisina na ipinagkaloob sa amin ay hindi bumababa sa 3,000 araw-araw (ang nagpupunta) at kung holidays at weekends, mas marami, kaya ayun naman ay mga parokyano na nila sa mga commercial establishments located on their malls,” he added.
Mr. Dooc said there would be another 12 satellite offices to open this year to cater to their projected growing membership.
An SSS satellite office offers complete services such as registration for employers and members; receiving of all types of claims and applications; processing and payment of funeral claims; processing of salary loans; accounts monitoring system; UMID processing and data capture, or e-Center.
Some satellite offices may even have a special facility such as a breastfeeding room for nursing mothers just like the one being offered in the SSS Robinsons Galleria-Ortigas Branch, which is open on weekdays from 10AM to 6PM.
The expansion of SSS offices in shopping areas is part of Robinsons Malls Lingkod Pinoy Center’s commitment to provide the Filipino public with a hassle-free way of processing government related transactions. (EPC/RJB/JCP/PIA-NCR)
