VALENZUELA CITY, July 9 (PIA)—Valenzuela City kicked off today (July 9) the week-long celebration of Dr. Pio Valenzuela’s 149th birth anniversary that will be highlighted by the presence of Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin M. Andanar as guest of honor.
This year’s lineup activities include inauguration of infrastructure projects, recognition of the contribution of constituents to the progress of the city and medical caravans, that include among others: Integrated Community Food Production (IFCP) Program Official Turnover & 1st Disiplina Village Bignay On-the-Spot Cooking Competition (July 9, 2018 (Monday, 9:00 AM); Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentive Awards 2018 (July 9, 2018 (Monday, 2:00 PM).
The inauguration and Blessing of Pasolo 3S Center at 9:00 AM and Dulong Tangke 3S Center in Barangay Malinta at 3:00 PM will take place on July 10, 2018 (Tuesday).
On Wednesday, July 11 there will be a wreath-laying ceremonies, in acknowledgment of Dr. Pio Valenzuela Scholarship donors, tunover of the College Admission Test Reviewer for Valenzuelano Students, and announcement of the new name of the Castrillo Sculpture at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Valenzuela.
On the same day also, a World Population Day Celebration Caravan will be held at the Disiplina Village Bignay.
On July 12, 2018 (Thursday, 9:00 AM) there will be an inauguration and Blessing of Barangay Gen. T. De Leon Mega Day Care Center while on the following day, July 13 at 9:00 AM, there will be an inauguration and Blessing of Dialysis Center Expansion ast the Valenzuela East Emergency Hospital.
A job fair with SM Affiliate Companies at SM Supercenter Valenzuela will be conducted on July 13 starting at 10:00 AM.
To bring medical services closer to the people, the City government will hold a medical mission at Doña Ata Covered Court, in Marulas on July 10 at 9:00 AM.
Dr. Pio was a member of The Triumvirate, the key leaders of the Katipunan, along with Andres bonifacio and Emilio Jacinto. He took charge of the Ang Kalayaan, Katipunan's official publication which said to be instrumental in beefing up the membership of the organization.
His life and heroism that serves as inspiration to Valenzuelanos will be honored with the traditional wreath-laying ceremonies before The Triumvirate monument at the City Hall on Wednesday, July 11. (PIA-NCR with reports from PIO Valenzuela)
