Like Pinas bags child-friendly Anak TV seal

QUEZON CITY, Dec. 7 (PIA) -- "Like Pinas," the Philippine Information Agency's (PIA) latest public-spirited, infotainment television show bagged the Anak TV Seal on Friday during the awarding ceremony held at the Soka Gakkai Building in Quezon City.

PIA Director-General Harold Clavite, on behalf of Like Pinas, received the seal of approval from Anak TV Awards, alongside several other programs from People’s Television Network (PTV), for being a television show certified by advocacy organization Anak TV Inc, to be watched by kids even with little or no adult supervision.

Among the PTV programs that received the seal of approval are 8th ASEAN Quiz National Competition; Bagong Pilipinas; Biyaheng Bukid Biyaheng Langit; DOSTv: Science for the People; GSIS Member's Hour; Iskoolmates; Kalusugan Mo, Sagot Ko; Kasangga mo ang Langit; Lakbayin ang Magandang Pilipinas; One ASEAN; Oras ng Himala; PTV Sports; Public Eye; Sagisag Kultura TV; and The Doctor is In.

The PIA-homegrown television program used to air over PTV during the evaluation period, but has now moved to GMA News TV, airing every Sunday at 3 pm. Like Pinas is now on its third episode airing on the news and public affairs programming channel of GMA Network Inc. 

"It's a great honor to be given this recognition and trust by Anak TV. We know the great value and importance of broadcast media and we want to exploit this to initiate transformation. We realize that behind every negative publicity that people see and hear everyday, there is a ginormous amount of success stories and good news across the country that need to be told. We would like to tell these stories to our citizens including young children. This is the primary reason why we created Like ‘Pinas,” Clavite said.

The now iconic Anak TV seal aims to help parents and caregivers make informed decisions about which television shows are right for their children.
