QUEZON CITY, March 10 (PIA) -- Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano has placed on "24-hour alert" its city health officials in their conduct of severe acute respiratory surveillance as part of the City Government's unrelenting efforts against the spread of COVID-19.
The local chief executive made the directive in order to help ensure public safety and health, amid concerns on the ever-increasing local transmission of the coronavirus disease.
The mayor also called on the public to ensure proper hygiene to protect themselves against the highly infectious viral diseases.
Calixto-Rubiano also urged residents who may have interacted with the confirmed COVID-19 cases within the past 14 days, or those who may have severe acute respiratory symptoms--such as cough, sneezing, fever, weakness, and shortness of breath--to immediately call the Pasay COVID-19 Hotline at "09567786524" (Globe) or "09089937024" (Smart) for appropriate referral to a health facility.
