PASIG CITY, March 14 (PIA) - To multiply its efforts against the dreaded coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the city government of Pasig distributed over 500 sets of backpack sprayers with disinfectant and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to all 30 barangays of the city.
The PPEs distributed on Friday include hazmat suits, face shields, gloves, and boots.
Mayor Vico Sotto called on the public to remain calm amidst these uncertain times. He also reminded residents to frequently wash hands, practice social distancing, and always get facts only from legitimate sources.
Meanwhile, the local chief executive also reminded residents of the curfew measures approved earlier by his fellow Metro Manila Council members proposed to start on March 15 until April 14, 2020, from 8:00pm to 5:00am.
Despite the resolution however, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), through Spokesperson Usec. Jonathan Malaya, said LGUs would still have to pass respective ordinance for it to take effect in their area of responsiblity (AOR).
Mayor Vico said that the same curfew hours will be implemented in the city and that he asked for everyone’s cooperation.
He asked residents to stay at home since traveling to and from Metro Manila is restricted except when going to work, going home, buying needed food/supplies, medical reasons, and during emergencies.
Sotto also reminded residents to carry a valid ID if travel is necessary. (Pasig City/PIA-NCR)
