CALOOCAN CITY, June 15 (PIA) -- Navotas City economic frontliners, or those belonging to the A4 priority group, continue receiving their COVID-19 vaccine, courtesy of the local government.
Despite the shortage of vaccine supply, the city was able to receive 2,240 doses of Sinovac from the national government on Sunday, June 13.
Mayor Toby Tiangco said in a tweet on Sunday that vaccine slots at the Navotas Fish Port Complex will be allocated for the workers and business owners in the area.
“Nasa 18,000 po ang mga nagtatrabaho rito, pinakamarami sa isang pasilidad. Importanteng mabakunahan sila dahil napaka-delikado pag dito nagkahawaan,” Mayor Toby added.
“Hangad din nating mabakunahan sila agad para makalipat ang vaccination team sa ibang lugar o makaikot sa mga bedridden na mamamayan,” he further said.
The city mayor also said the individuals who are working in Navotas can also be vaccinated. They just need to present a valid ID or proof of work.
“Paalala po muli na pwede kayong magpabakuna sa atin kapag kayo ay residente o nagtatrabaho sa Navotas na kabilang sa A1-A4 Priority Groups. Magpakita lamang ng ID o proof of residency o proof of work,” he said.
The city government temporarily stopped the vaccination of individuals under the A4 category after running out of COVID vaccine supply on June 9. (PIA NCR)
