San Juan LGU urges business owners, workers to register for COVID jab

QUEZON CITY, June 9 (PIA) -- San Juan Mayor Francis Zamora today urged the city’s business owners and their workers to register with the COVID-19 vaccination program of the local government.

Mayor Francis made the call as the city started the inoculation of its A4 priority group or economic frontliners this morning.

The mayor approved last May 28 two Executive Orders expanding the city’s vaccination program and encourage more San Juaneños to get vaccinated.

Zamora said Executive Order No. 81 encourages all employees of business establishments allowed to operate in San Juan to get vaccinated. 

This includes even those who are non-residents but are working in San Juan City, as stipulated in the IATF (Inter Agency Task Force)-set guidelines and priority group categorization.

Meanwhile, Executive Order No. 82 encourages businesses in San Juan City allowed to operate under GCQ (General Community Quarantine) to provide incentives and/or discounts to vaccinated customers.

Zamora said providing incentives and discounts to vaccinated individuals will motivate more citizens to get vaccinated and will also serve as a reward to get the jabs and be part of the efforts to protect the population.

He added that the program is a big help in boosting the economy of the city as more people will be confident in entering establishments which the local government will identify through stickers and signage as having employees who are fully vaccinated.

So far, the city has already vaccinated 33,404 residents from the A1, A2, and A3 categories or 39.11 percent of the target population. (PIA NCR)
