PARAĆAQUE CITY, June 13 (PIA) -- To boost its peace and order initiatives, the City Government of Taguig held a ceremonial turnover of motorcycles to the Taguig City Police over the weekend.
The event was held at the Taguig City Hall Quadrangle wherein 30 motorcycle units were given to the city’s Tactical Motorcycle Riding Unit.
"The turnover of these motorcycles will make the Taguig City Police more mobile and versatile in catching criminals especially those riding in tandem involved in robbery, hold-up, and other crimes," Mayor Lino Cayetano said.
"Each is equipped with hand-held radios and helmets. Patrol routes around the city and standby points at 24-hour convenience stores and other vital establishments will be assigned to ensure various locations in the city are monitored and safe for citizens," Mayor Lino added.
Cayetano with Taguig City Police headed by Col. Celso Rodriguez along with other city officials, Councilor Noel Dizon, Councilor Marisse Eron, Councilor Rommel Tanyag, Councilor Yasser Pangandaman, SK Federation Chair Maryruth 'Beng' Maximo, and Brgy. Ligid-Tipas Captain Lamberto MaƱosca was also present during the ceremony.
Last Wednesday, June 10, the Taguig City Police was also commended for being the best unit in the Southern Police District (SPD).
Chief of Police Col. Celso Rodriguez received the plaque of commendation for Taguig City Police ranking 1st Place in the Unit Performance Evaluation Rating (UPER) for the 1st Quarter of 2021 with a general average of 94.08%.
As freedom and safety go hand-in-hand and the nation celebrates ‘Araw ng Kalayaan’, the local government continues to value the freedom and safety of every TaguigueƱo by further mobilizing its police force as it upholds peace and order in the city, the mayor said. (PIA NCR)
