NCRPO Chief awards galant security guard in San Juan City

CALOOCAN CITY, (PIA) --  National Capital Region Police Chief, PMGen. Vicente Danao Jr. awarded Security Guard Roderick C. Ricafrente the Medalya ng Katangitanging Asal (PNP Outstanding Conduct Medal) for exhibiting heroic act in thwarting a robbery incident against armed robbers.

Ricafrente  fearlessly thwarted a robbery at a convenience store in Greenhills, San Juan City which was subsequently responded by the elements of San Juan City Police Station that resulted in the arrest of the four suspects and seizure of three firearms.

According to Danao, the Medalya ng Katangitanging Asal is awarded to any quasi police force member or other civilian volunteer for the heroic acts by the individual while in action involving actual conflict with an enemy in a crime situation or life saving situation, distinguishing himself conspicuously by gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of life above and beyond the call of duty.

Aside for the award and recognition, Ricafrente also receive other items such as groceries worth Php 5,000.00 thousand pesos, foot wears, health kits, vest, and 2 sacks of rice from the NCRPO Chief.

A Certificate was also given to him by PCOL Elpidio A Ramirez, acting Chief of Police, SJCPS  while Sa Juan City Mayor Zamora gave him Php 10,000.00 in cash.

Zamora also gave  Php 3,000.00 cash and a sack of rice as incentive to all the PNP personnel San Juan City Police Station who are also  recognized during the Awarding and Recognition of Significant Accomplishments held September 7, 2021 at the SJCPS.

In his message, Danao gave due recognition to the gallantry shown by  Ricafrente. 

“He deserves to be given such recognition for other security guards to emulate," Danao said.

"Likewise, we would like to commend and congratulate the follow-up operation conducted by the Chief of Police of San Juan City, PCol. Elpidio Ramirez  along with his personnel for the arrest of the suspects," he added.

"Dahil sa follow up ninyo, we were able to preempt further blood shed and another illegal activity that may happen. I also advise our policemen to be always alert and vigilant," Danao said. (NCRPO/PIA-NCR)
