MANILA, (PIA) -- The Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (DOST-Phivolcs) is set to launch and turnover the Specific Earthquake Site Response Atlases to select local government units on Friday, as part of building earthquake resilience and disaster risk reduction.
The virtual launch and turnover ceremony, which will be conducted via Zoom, will be held on Friday, October 22, from 1 to 3:30 p.m.

"This can serve as a guide in seismic load design to increase the resiliency of buildings and infrastructures in the event of a large earthquake," Solidum said.
Six (6) atlases, developed under the Specific Earthquake Ground Motion Levels to
Help Increase the Seismic Resiliency of Government Infrastructures, Residential,
and Medium-to-High Rise Buildings in Pangasinan, Tarlac, Metro Iloilo-Guimaras,
Cauayan City, Butuan City, and Mati City Project, will be turned over to the local
government units and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
Help Increase the Seismic Resiliency of Government Infrastructures, Residential,
and Medium-to-High Rise Buildings in Pangasinan, Tarlac, Metro Iloilo-Guimaras,
Cauayan City, Butuan City, and Mati City Project, will be turned over to the local
government units and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
