PASIG CITY (PIA) – The Philippine National Police (PNP) reaffirmed its commitment to its ‘zero tolerance’ policy on misconduct among police personnel.

Our zero tolerance policy is firm because public trust is non-negotiable.”

He added that while the PNP is reasonably generous in giving due recognition and reward for outstanding performance, the organization is also swift and decisive in imposing punishment for breach of discipline and misconduct.

According to PNP, from July 2016 to Nov. 26, 2025, the Directorate for Personnel and Records Management (DPRM) reported that 32,698 police personnel were found guilty of administrative offenses.

Of this total, 9,027 personnel were dismissed from the service, signaling the PNP’s firm resolve to clean its ranks. Another 1,725 were demoted, while 15,311 received suspension orders after due process.

Additionally, 1,221 personnel faced forfeiture of salary, 4,355 were reprimanded, 528 received restriction penalties, and 531 had certain privileges withheld as part of corrective disciplinary measures.

The report further revealed that 1,037 of those dismissed were involved in drug-related offenses or tested positive for illegal drug use, underscoring the PNP’s relentless campaign against rogue cops and its unwavering stance against illegal drugs—both within communities and within the organization itself.

These measures undertaken by the PNP reflect the organization’s sustained efforts to uphold professional standards.

The PNP chief further emphasized the responsibility carried by every police officer:

“Every badge must be carried with honor. Kung may iilang nadadapa o lumalabag sa batas, we will always act decisively. The PNP will continue cleansing its ranks while strengthening the culture of professionalism and service.” (JEG/PIA-NCR)
