PASIG CITY (PIA)—The Philippine National Police (PNP) announced the opening of recruitment for over 6,500 new police officers nationwide.
Acting Chief PNP, PLTGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., said that the recruitment drive forms part of the organization’s continuing effort to ensure a responsive and professional police service for the Filipino people and emphasized that it is in line with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to strengthen the police force and sustain manpower development.
“Strengthening our ranks is a vital step to ensure that we can serve our communities faster, more efficiently, and with integrity. Under the Bagong Pilipinas vision, our goal is to build a more professional, disciplined, and dependable police force,” said Nartatez.
According to PNP, a total of 5,639 quota slots are allotted to the 17 Police Regional Offices (PROs) nationwide.
In addition, several National Support Units (NSUs) were also given a total of 900 recruitment quotas, including the Anti-Kidnapping Group (75), Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (75), PNP Drug Enforcement Group (225), Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Canine Group (95), Integrity Monitoring Enforcement Group (75), Communications and Electronics Service (85), Headquarters Support Service (200), and the Special Action Force (70).
The PNP chief also encouraged people to be part of the police force.
“We encourage patriotic and service-driven Filipinos to join the PNP. If you have the heart to serve and protect, now is the time to be part of our organization,” said Nartatez.
He also reminded the public that the recruitment process is completely free of charge, warning against individuals who may attempt to solicit money or offer assistance in exchange for entry into the PNP.
Meanwhile, PNP Public Information Office chief PBGEN Randulf T. Tuaño reaffirmed the transparency and fairness of the entire recruitment system.
“There are no shortcuts and no intermediaries. The only legitimate way to join the PNP is through our official recruitment channels. We encourage applicants to report anyone who claims otherwise,” he emphasized.
All eligible applicants are advised to regularly monitor the official Facebook pages of the PNP Recruitment and Selection Service (PNP RSS), Regional Recruitment and Selection Units (RRSUs), and National Support Units (NSUs) for updates and announcements regarding the submission of requirements.
This nationwide recruitment underscores the PNP’s continuing commitment to build a stronger, more capable, and people-centered organization, upholding its mandate in ensuring peace, order, and safety for all. (JEG/PIA-NCR)
