QUEZON CITY, March 1 (PIA) -- Seven new housing communities are being developed by the Quezon City (QC) government to address the problem of providing proper resettlement for informal families (ISF) in the city.
These are in addition to housing units provided as a result of coordination with the National Housing Authority (NHA) and partnerships with civic organizations like the Gawad Kalinga.
The projects are as follows:
Bistekville 1 (Bgy. Payatas). The project will provide 353 housing units in Barangay Payatas. The construction of the housing units is in partnership with Habitat for Humanity. To date, 103 housing units have been completed and awarded to qualified beneficiaries (41teachers and 62 informal settler families (ISF)) and 38 housing units are being completed.
Bistekville 2 (Bgy. Kaligayahan). The project will provide 894 housing units (1-storey with loft). As of January 2013, 128 housing units have been completed and awarded to qualified beneficiaries (47 teachers and 81 ISFs).
Bistekville 3 (Bgy. Escopa II). This project will provide 106 proposed housing units.
Bistekville 4 (Bgy. Culiat). This project will provide 218 housing units. This project is in partnership with Habitat for Humanity. There is an on-going site clearing and grading and on-going social preparation and beneficiary selection.
Bistekville 5 (Bgy. Payatas) This project will provide 197 housing units. This project is in partnership with Habitat for Humanity.
Bistekville 6 (Bgy. Fairview). This project will provide 273 proposed housing units.
There is also an on-going road development which will connect Chestnut St. with Atherton St. and will serve as access road of Bistekville 6.
Bistekville 7 (Bgy. Sauyo) This project will provide 800 housing units through a 3-storey walk-up building. The housing units intended for ISFs along Republic Avenue.
