US Embassy Manila launches“Earth Day" online poem contest

MANILA, 13 April (PIA) – The U.S. Embassy Manila is encouraging its online followers to submit an original, English poem with the theme “Protecting Earth for the Future.”
The contest is in line with the celebration of Earth Day on April 22, 2016.

Poems may be submitted until April 20, 2016. Qualified entries will be featured on the U.S. Embassy’s social media accounts to celebrate Earth Day on April 22, 2016.
 
A winner will be picked based on the following criteria: 50% Creativity, 50% Relevance to the theme.

According to the U.S. Embassy Manila, a participant must be a Filipino resident in the Philippines and at least 18 years of age. The poem must be written in English and should not have been submitted on featured in other contests. It must not be longer than four (4) stanzas. And only one entry per participant is allowed.

The winner will be notified on the event page and will be contacted via Facebook private message. The Winner will be announced on the Embassy website and/or social media pages. 

The winning entry will also be featured on the Embassy’s social media pages as part of celebrating Earth Day. A special gift pack will also be shipped to the winner.
