PSA now services its clients on Saturdays

QUEZON CITY, Aug 03 (PIA)--The frontline service counters of the Philippine Statistics Authority in Metro Manila are now open six-days a week, or from Mondays to Saturdays. 

In a statement, Ms. Lisa Grace S. Bersales, National Statistician and Civil Registrar General said the move is in response to the directive of President Rodrigo Duterte to lessen the queues in government offices.

PSA is among the government offices which delivers public service to a huge number of clientele.  During the first semester of the year, or from January to June 2016, the agency recorded to have received 83,000 requests on a peak day for the copy issuance of civil registry documents nationwide.

As early as 4:00 AM, clients from all walks of life line-up at PSA outlets all over the country to request for copy issuance of civil registry documents (birth, marriage and death certificates) as well as Certificate of No Marriage Record (CENOMAR) for purposes of passport issuance, visa application, benefits claim, employment, as a school requirement, among others.

Bersales added, that on Saturdays, Metro Manila frontline service counters are open from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Other alternative channels for application for copy issuance of civil registry documents include online application via www.e-census.com.ph, by phone through Helpline Plus at number (02)737-1111 or through several accredited local governments units and partner establishments for offline, offsite transactions in malls such as the SM Business Centers.
