PASIG CITY, (PIA) -- The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority National Capital Region, through its CaMaNaVa District, successfully established partnership with the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) and the 51st Engineer Brigade of the Philippine Army for the training on construction, repair and maintenance of fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) rescue boats.
The parties agreed that TESDA will provide training instructions to be delivered by BFAR-NMFDC to the trainees from the army brigade.
Through this training, BFAR will ensure to equip participants with skills and technical know-how on the construction of fiberglass reinforced plastic rescue boats, as well as its repair and maintenance.
Further, the training aims to capacitate more trainees from the 51st Engineer Brigade in the field of Marine and Fisheries Technology to help them better in their disaster response operations.
TESDA will also provide training of trainers for BFAR to accommodate more beneficiaries.
