QUEZON CITY, June 28 (PIA) --- The Pasig River Rehabilitation Commission (PRRC) inaugurated yesterday the 75-linear meter park in Poblacion, Makati as part of the agency's projects to rehabilitate the Pasig River and its environs.
PRRC has turned the Poblacion Linear Park into an Environmental Preservation Area (EPA), which serve as a buffer zone between the Pasig River and the residential and commercial establishments in Barangay Poblacion.
The linear park has a gazebo and multipurpose sheds, solar lamp posts, and historical marker post. Restorations were also made such as painting of existing structures, instalment of pavers, concrete banding and landscaping.
PRRC began the development of Poblacion Linear Park last 5 January 2016 with an allocated budget of Php 4,533,336.34.
During the event, PRRC Executive Director Ramil R. Tan, DILG-Makati Rommel Cena, and PCUP Chief of Operations, Field Operation Division Director Florencio Inandan signed a deed of turn-over and acceptance to ensure the continuous preservation of the project in the area.
PRRC also has around 40 river warriors tasked to maintain the cleanliness in the rehabilitated areas along the Pasig River and its tributaries. (RJB/MAPA/PIA-NCR)
