MANILA, (PIA) — The local government of Muntinlupa welcomed 15 Korean volunteers from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) who will be contributing their skills at Child Development Centers throughout the city.
The collaboration aims to ensure that each learner receives the attention and support they need.
This initiative has positioned Muntinlupa as a local learning hub for volunteerism in the Philippines.
Muntinlupa Mayor Ruffy Biazon expressed enthusiasm about the program, noting that the volunteers will teach new methodologies and share best practices to enhance services in Early Childhood Education and Development.
The volunteers have already begun immersing themselves in local culture, experiencing the daily commute via jeepneys and engaging with the community, the city’s Public Information Office said.
They visited UNICEF Philippines and the University of the Philippines’ Department of Family Life and Child Development to gain insight into early childhood education.
Additionally, the team met KOICA country director, Jung Youngsun, at the KOICA Philippines Office.
According to KOICA, the volunteers will work closely with Muntinlupa’s Early Childhood Education Division (ECED) and Child Development Centers, focusing on advancing early childhood care and development in partnership with UNICEF and the University of the Philippines. (GLDG/PIA-NCR)
