Valenzuela City celebrates National Children’s Month

VALENZUELA  CITY, NOV. 22 (PIA)--Over 1,200 daycare pupils under the city government’s Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) program flocked at the Valenzuela City Astrodome, November 18, 2016, to celebrate National Children’s Month.   

 The event, which had been celebrated for several years during October is now celebrated during the month of November of every year stipulated under Republic Act No. 10661 signed by former President Benigno Aquino.

 This year’s celebration carries the theme, “Isulong: Kalidad na Edukasyon Para sa Lahat ng Bata!” which highlights the children’s rights to education and encourage stakeholders to advocate inclusive and equitable life-long learning opportunities for all children.

 In 2014, City Mayor Rex Gatchalian began the Education 360° Investment Program, where the city government covers all fronts, investing in every vital aspect of local basic education: curriculum, nutrition, teacher competency, parental participation and infrastructure.
