PASIG CITY, June 19 (PIA) -- Some 1,300 economic frontliners under the A4 priority group have received their first dose of the Sinovac vaccine at the newly-renovated Open Air Auditorium at Rizal Park, Luneta in the City of Manila.
According to the National Parks Development Committee (NPDC), the economic frontliners were serenaded through a screening of the NPDC’s flagship cultural programs such as “Uso Pa Ang Harana,” “Concert at the Park,” and the Catholic Mass Media Hall of Fame Awardee for Best Cultural Program, “Paco Park Presents” while waiting to be vaccinated.
After vaccination, the economic frontliners had the chance for a photo opportunity featuring the bust of our national hero Dr. Jose Rizal.
The safe and organized vaccination drive at the national heritage park was made possible in cooperation with the Department of Tourism and the City Government of Manila.
Meanwhile, Manila’s COVID-19 Field Hospital located at the Burnham Green in Rizal Park is set to open soon. The 344-bed facility will cater mild to moderate cases of COVID-19.
Amid the closure and limited operations of many tourism sites in the country, the industry continues to prove its relevance and essential role by repurposing many of these sites and spaces into facilities to aid in the current public health crisis. (PIA NCR)
