QUEZON CITY (PIA) — The Philippine National Police (PNP) continues to further strengthen law enforcement with international partners to ensure the safety of the public.
PNP chief General Jose Melencio Corpuz Nartatez Jr. on Tuesday welcomed at Camp Crame the Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to the Philippines, Miloš Koterec.
Nartatez said the PNP remains committed to strengthening international law enforcement cooperation in support of the PNP Focused Agenda through stronger partnerships and responsive policing, as it continues its pursuit of a “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman.”
During his meeting with Ambassador Koterec, Nartatez emphasized the PNP’s commitment to fostering strong international linkages and exploring strategic partnerships with its Slovakian counterparts. The officials discussed potential avenues for bilateral cooperation, focusing on public safety initiatives, knowledge exchange, and continuous police development to adapt to modern security challenges.
The PNP said the visit underscores a solid foundation for sustained dialogue and practical collaboration between the PNP and Slovak law enforcement agencies.
By sharing best practices, training frameworks, and operational insights, the PNP and the Slovak Republic aim to enhance cross-border security cooperation and reinforce mutual commitments to global peace and community safety.
Likewise, the PNP chief welcomed the Attaché of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), Stephen James Richardson.
The meeting reaffirmed the strong partnership between the PNP and HSI in addressing transnational crimes, particularly human trafficking and online sexual abuse and exploitation of children.
The PNP and the HSI emphasized the importance of information sharing, investigative cooperation, capability development, and coordinated efforts to protect victims and bring offenders to justice. (JEG/PIA-NCR)
