QUEZON CITY, (PIA) — The newly opened “The Mansion Museum” in Baguio City offers visitors a unique glimpse into Philippine history and culture, featuring a collection of postage stamps issued by PHLPost that highlight the country’s Presidents.

First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos led the ceremonial opening of the Presidential Museum at The Mansion.

The museum is expected to enhance the tourism industry in the region.

We would like to thank the first couple, especially First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, for opening The Mansion and showcasing these vast collections of stamps and memorabilia for the public, particularly the youth, to appreciate our rich heritage, culture, and history,” said Postmaster General Luis D. Carlos.

The museum features some of the most valuable stamps ever created, starting with General Emilio Aguinaldo, the first and youngest president of the Philippines, and continuing through to the current Chief Executive, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

Alongside the PHLPost postage stamps, detailed information is provided to tell the stories of the Philippine Presidents throughout the nation’s history.

The late former President Fidel V. Ramos, known for his passion for stamp collecting, played a significant role in promoting philately in the Philippines.

He signed Proclamation No. 494, declaring every November as National Stamp Collecting Month.

Originally constructed in 1908 as the summer residence for American governors-general before World War II, The Mansion currently serves as the official summer residence of the President.

It is located along Romulo Drive, just across Wright Park in Baguio City. (JEG/PIA-NCR)
