QUEZON CITY, (PIA) — At least 300 families of Barangay Buayang Bato in Mandaluyong City received emergency go-bags courtesy of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).

This is a significant step toward creating a safer and more prepared community to face challenges,” said Kagawad Ralph Ronald Nobela, expressing gratitude for the donation.

These go-bags are expected to be beneficial to the residents and provide security during calamities,” he added.

The donation aims to equip the community with essential items for use during disasters and emergencies.

Each PCSO PVC go-bag contains glow sticks, whistle, squeeze-powered hand-crank flashlight, emergency thermal blanket, zip lock bag, first aid kit pouch, and family disaster preparedness booklet

Given Barangay Buayang Bato’s proximity to the Pasig River, the go-bags will play a crucial role in ensuring residents’ safety during unexpected events, including severe flooding from heavy rains, the PCSO said in a statement.

The initiative is part of the PCSO’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, which aims to assist those in need and promote community well-being nationwide.

This effort underscores the PCSO’s commitment to public service and support for Filipinos in need. (JVD/PIA-NCR)
